Workshop: Play Therapy

Getting to Know Your Child's Inner Emotions – Play Therapy
Saturday, 4 July 2009, 9am – 1pm

Why is this workshop for you?

German Educator, Friedrich Froebel (1782 – 1852) asserts that "children's play is not mere sport, but full of meaning and import. Play and sports are part and parcel of vital development for our children's wholistic growth."

Andrew Ng, a very experienced Play Therapist, will enlighten you on the impact of play on a child during the magical years of his life. How do you effectively bond with your child? Do you know what he is thinking? Feeling? How do you transfer social values and enhance developmental soft skills? Reverse or minimise challenging behaviour?

Come to the workshop! Make a difference in your child's life – make play a priority!

Agenda for the morning:

Core Session – Presentation by Mr. Andrew Ng

Mini Session 2 – Presentation by Ms. Anna Wong - “Spotting trouble areas through play”

There will be a short break at about 10.30 a.m.

The speaker:

Andrew Ng certainly has a world-wide view on play, having been trained in USA, Switzerland, New Zealand and Hong Kong. He also has an impressive and diverse background – he is one of the founding members of Malaysian Art Therapy Associates, SAPET and Agape Counselling Centre. He remains as a Consultant for the latter two centres. He is also currently the Director of Play & Expressive Arts.

Besides conducting parenting seminars and workshops in play/art/sandtray therapy in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, he is also a columnist, author, publisher, artist and songwriter.
